What is a data breach, in plain terms?

It is when a company holding your information has that information stolen or accidentally exposed. The stolen data is then shared or sold, often for years. You are rarely told promptly, and sometimes not at all.

How does Total PRO know my details were leaked?

We monitor known breach datasets and the places stolen credentials are traded, and check the email addresses you have asked us to watch against them. When one appears, you get an alert naming the source and what was exposed.

What should I do if I get an alert?

Change the password on the breached service, then change it anywhere you reused it, starting with your email account — it can reset everything else. Turn on two-factor authentication where it is offered. If payment details were exposed, contact your bank. Call us and an agent will do all of this with you.

Can you remove my information from a breach?

No, and be sceptical of anyone who claims they can. Once data is copied and shared it cannot be recalled. What monitoring changes is the timing — knowing early lets you make the leaked credentials useless before they are used.
